My second Model is my Teleporter.
This model started off with a similar shape to my Consumable but larger,and a flatter. This shape essentially made the base of teleporter. I then beveled the edges, after this I created a spike from the diagonals, i did this by extruding out of the shape along a CV that I had created. After this I then tapered the spikes to make them look more spiky, I did this on each diagonal to create 4 spikes.
After this i then duplicated the shape to make the top. I then began to add detail by extruding some of the edges out, to make some cool effects.
I then made a cylinder to make the glow effect for the middle of my teleporter. To make this I used a ramp shader, and then made a gradient of colours between dark blue and light blue, and then I bumped up the reflectivity and the glow to make a cool glowy effect. In Photoshop i then blurred the edge and smudged to make it look cooler.
After this I UV mapped my model using an automatic map, I then sorted out the shapes to make it easier for me to texture, i grouped up all the pipes and i also grouped up the base and the bottom, to make it easier for me to place a texture on. I then got an Ice texture off CG textures and pasted it on the Main parts of the model, i got a control panel picture and pasted it onto my own control panel. After i made this texture I had to save the file a targer as PSD's kept crashing.
